GlobSnow Technical Documents
The Simple Cloud Detection Algorithm (SCDA) has been developed withinGlobSnow-1/2 project. The algorithm is developed by Dr. S. Metsämäki (SYKE) and applies simple thresholding for various optical and thermal channels to detect clouds on various terrain during different seasons. The methodology is well suited to detect clouds even on snow covered surfaces, which is a known challenge for optical remote sensing.
